This week has been a quite intense one – Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang, Cameron Highlands, all in 7 days. But it has also been a beautiful and inspiring one.
I had read over and over on travel guides and websites about your street food, and indeed I’d have to agree that it is one of the best I ever tasted. I will miss having breakfast on the street stalls, eating roti canai – sort of pancake freshly cooked on a flat grill on order- while sipping on the tarik, delicious hot foamy drink made of black tea and condensed milk.
I will miss getting lost and wandering in your streets, amazed by the unique mix of modernity and tradition that reflects in your architecture. I love how you never miss a chance to display your creativity, artistically decorating streets or cafe walls.
I will also particularly miss the kindness of your people, always offering their smile and help.
Last but not least, I would like to thank you for being an inspiring example of tolerance. Seeing different cultures and religions coexisting in harmony, with everyone respecting each other’s beliefs instead of imposing their own, was a breath of fresh air. I wish that all over the world diversity could stand as united as it does in Malaysia.
Thank you for the beautiful memories,
